Ilham Aliyev inspected the territorial development plan of Baku

President Ilham Aliyev checked out the territorial development plan of Baku at State Town-planning and Architecture Committee.

Chairman of the State Town-Planning and Architecture Committee, Abbas Alaskarov, informed the President about the implementation of the General Plan of Baku city (1986-2005).

President Ilham Aliyev was given broad information about the completed and currently ongoing buildings on a model of 1:500 scales, prepared by Baku State Project Institute.

The President inquired about renovation and construction works to be carried out in streets, avenues, and other sites of Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev gave concrete instructions on carrying out construction works in accordance with modern standards and preparation of proposals on new buildings of Baku.

The President noted that there was great potential for development of tourism in coastal areas of Baku. With that end in view, he added, it would be better to build beach resort zones in coastal areas. He ordered the initiation of drafting development projects for Dubandi, Turkan, and Zig areas, while solving problems of new constructions through complex measures. Moreover, he said the construction of industrial facilities should be forestalled in the city center.

Then, the President was briefed on the works to be done based on the three-dimensional plan of Baku center. It was noted that sales of construction sites to businesspersons in stages and implementation of construction works through a common project would yield results that are more positive. In this case, construction of parks and entertainment facilities should be pre-planned alongside residential buildings. At the same time, widening of highways during settling of districts ensures elimination of traffic jams and alleviates pedestrian movement.

President İlham Aliyev also checked out detailed planning project for the center of capital with proposed traffic novelties, as well as the basic principles of the city development concept by 2030 of Baku General Plan.

The President was also given information about the territorial development plan of Sumqayit and Khirdalan towns. It was noted that reconstruction-renovation works carried out in these towns in close proximity to the capital should adhere to the same principles of Grand Baku development plan.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of separate learning and précising of suggestions on Sumqayit and Khirdalan towns by experts.

The President gave relevant suggestions and instructions on implementation of Baku territorial development plan.
