Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the “AAC” plant of modern construction materials in the Garadag district

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the “AAC” plant of modern construction materials in the Garadag district.

It was indicated that the plant, the construction of which began in May 2008, meets modern standards and covers an area of 10 hectares.

There are sections for the production of porous concrete, quicklime and hydrated lime, and washed silica sand.

It was noted that the plant has warehouses for raw materials and finished products, an office building, a railway line, an area for the maintenance and technical inspection of vehicles, and other facilities. To maintain a high standard of production, the plant operates a laboratory fitted with the latest microbiological, physical and chemical equipment.
It was indicated that a substation has been built to ensure the uninterrupted and high-quality power supply of the plant. A green area has been set up and a modern lighting system installed.

The President of Azerbaijan was informed that a low-interest loan of 10 million manats was allocated for the construction from the National Fund on the Support for Entrepreneurship under the Ministry of Economic Development.

It was mentioned that quicklime, hydrated lime and porous concrete blocks produced under the brand name of “Gobustan” meet international standards and are manufactured by separate production sites of the plant. Of the whole Caucasus region, such a hi-tech enterprise operates only in Azerbaijan.

It was indicated that before being dispatched from a warehouse to the site, the raw materials undergo the process of washing and are then processed in a closed environment. As a result, an environmentally friendly product is produced. The process is carried out in line with international standards, in a clean environment and without causing an environmental impact. This site produces 100 tons of quicklime and 120 tons of hydrated lime.

The head of state reviewed samples of finished products. It was noted that quicklime and hydrated lime are widely used in construction, metallurgy, mining and food industries. The machinery and vehicles used during processing and manufacture at the plant are also produced by leading companies in the world. The main criteria taken into consideration are quality and environmental friendliness.

Then, President Aliyev examined the site for the production of porous concrete. The President reviewed a model of the plant. It was mentioned that the process uses local raw materials – silica sand and limestone. The raw materials are delivered to the plant directly from the deposits of silica sand in Umbaki, while limestone is delivered by rail from a quarry in Gazakh District.

President Aliyev watched a video about the operation of the porous concrete site. It was indicated that the entire process is automated. At present, the daily capacity of this site is 600 cubic meters. A laboratory equipped with modern facilities enables complete control over the quality of raw materials and finished products. This provides a guarantee of quality production in line with modern standards.

It was noted that for their heat-insulation properties, the porous concrete slabs are six times better than conventional bricks, are environmentally safe, fireproof and resistant to earthquakes.

The concrete blocks are lighter, have precise dimensions and are more economical. Along with production for the domestic market, the company also intends to export its products to foreign countries in the future.

It was mentioned that the plant has a professional staff who have received training at similar enterprises abroad. Currently, the plant employs 130 people. Their average salary is 760 manats.

Expressing satisfaction with the work done at the plant, President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions and recommendations.
