His Excellency Mr Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Your Excellency,

I wish to convey my sincere congratulations to you and to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 28. I wish you and the people of Azerbaijan prosperity and well-being.

I would like to offer words of support to the people of Azerbaijan as we all confront the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It illustrates how dependent we are of each other and indicates that solutions can only be found in close cooperation. I hope our countries continue to work together to enhance cooperation in the areas of mutual interest both bilaterally as well as in international organisations such as the United Nations. Let me also stress that Estonia is and will be a strong supporter of the Eastern Partnership and continues to encourage closer relationship between the European Union and its partners in the neighbourhood.
