Then the head of state had a conversation with the ambassador.
President Ilham Aliyev said:
- You are welcome, Mr. Ambassador. I am very pleased to see you. I wish you success in your activities in Azerbaijan. I am sure you have a lot to do because the relations between our countries are developing and we have established very strong political ties. I recall with satisfaction my official visit to your country and the visit of President Duda to Azerbaijan. We discussed many issues related to bilateral cooperation. During our meeting in Davos in January this year, we reaffirmed the strategic importance of our partnership. Poland is a very important partner and friendly country for us. Close and friendly relations between our countries have developed over the years. We have had numerous contacts over the past years. I am glad that we are seeing development not only in the political, but also in the economic sphere now. As you know, our regional trade office for Central Europe is located in Poland. This fact suggests that we consider your country to be our main trading partner in this region of the world. I am sure that our relations will develop in the coming years. In January this year, together with President Duda, we discussed our upcoming plans. I wish you success.
Ambassador Rafal Poborski said:
- Thank you, Your Excellency. It is difficult to add anything after your detailed description of our bilateral relations. Let me say that I was sent here by our President to strengthen our friendly relations. I know that your excellencies have very good contacts with each other. You meet very often. You very well emphasize the main aspects of our bilateral relations. With the help of my colleagues in Poland, I will try to do my best to contribute to the development of bilateral political dialogue and economic ties. Both countries are very important for the region. We are well positioned to take advantage of the possibilities of transport hubs. It was with great joy that we watched your progress in the energy policy. I know that a dialogue is ongoing between our companies in this regard. We do hope that the result of this will be the successful projects that will benefit both parties. Of course, there are very good prospects in the field of establishing cultural ties and contacts between peoples. We hope that there will be direct flights between our capitals. I will make every effort to implement this project.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in the energy, transport, agricultural, cultural, tourism and other fields.
