President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Yousef Bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen.
President Ilham Aliyev hailed Yousef Bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen’s activity as the Secretary General of the OIC and thanked him for attaching importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Yousef Bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan. Describing Azerbaijan as a very important member of the OIC, Yousef Bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen underlined the significance of Azerbaijan’s contributions to the strengthening of global peace and security, including Islamic solidarity in the Muslim world.
Azerbaijan`s important role in promoting interreligious and intercultural dialogue was emphasized, Azerbaijan was hailed as an exemplary country where all religions and confessions coexist in peace, the significance of the Islamic Solidarity Games held in Baku was stressed.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
