Ilham Aliyev received UN Secretary-General’s Special Advisor on Sustainable Development Goals

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on the Sustainable Development Goals Jeffrey Sachs.

The head of state thanked Jeffrey Sachs for attending the 7th Global Baku Forum.

Jeffrey Sachs expressed gratitude for the organization of the 7th Global Baku Forum, adding he is pleased to participate in the event. Touching upon the importance of the Forum, he stressed the significance of holding fruitful discussions on regional and other issues at the event.

Saying that the number of participating countries and delegates in the Global Baku Forum has increased, President Ilham Aliyev underlined that this Forum has become an important international event.

The ongoing economic development processes in the country, Azerbaijan-initiated large-scale global projects as well as the East-West Transport Corridor and energy policy were highlighted at the meeting.
