Ilham Aliyev received participants of the 14th session of the Turkic Nations Intelligence Agencies Conference

President Ilham Aliyev has received participants of the 14th session of the Turkic Nations Intelligence Agencies Conference.

President Ilham Aliyev said:

Let me welcome you to Azerbaijan! I am very pleased that you have gathered in our country. I am aware that such meetings are of regular nature. I am very glad that, as far as I know, there is mutual understanding among leaders of secret services of our friendly states, there is coordination of efforts, which is highly important. Information exchanges, coordination in the elimination of threats and joint activities are of exceptional importance in the present-day world. The security of any country is of great importance to the state. Of course, better security can only be achieved through collective effort.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the joint combat of the intelligence agencies of friendly nations against future threats would be successful. The head of state highlighted the importance of collective fight against terror threats in the modern world. President Aliyev indicated that coordination, information exchange, mutual assistance and support were the key preconditions for a successful solution of the tasks on the agenda of intelligence agencies.

The Azerbaijani President said:

I am confident that the meeting in Baku will further strengthen your relations. This will serve the invigoration of peace in our region, the security of our citizens and sustainable development of our nations. I wish you every success, productive work and good results.

The head of the National Intelligence Organization of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, thanked the Azerbaijani side for hosting the event at a high level. He noted that the cooperation of intelligence agencies in addressing the existing threats in the region was yielding fruit, and as these relations strengthen, threats subside. Hakan Fidan conveyed greetings on behalf of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Azerbaijani President.

President Ilham Aliyev asked the guest to communicate his greetings to the Turkish Prime Minister.

Thanking the Azerbaijani side for the hospitality and organization of the event at a high level, the chairman of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, Nurtai Abykayev, noted that all efforts were focused on interaction in addressing the existing regional threats. Abykayev said he had visited Baku a few years ago and observed major development in the Azerbaijani capital since his previous visit. Nurtai Abykayev passed on greetings on behalf of Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev to President Ilham Aliyev.

The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings of Nursultan Nazarbayev, and asked the guest to convey his greetings to the President of Kazakhstan.

President Ilham Aliyev touched upon the fruitful cooperation among intelligence agencies of our countries again. The President pointed to the importance of mobilizing all efforts to further strengthen the existing ties. President Aliyev stressed the importance of cooperation in this issue and a joint struggle against regional threats. The President of Azerbaijan wished the 14th session of the Turkic Nations Intelligence Agencies Conference under way in Baku every success.
