Ilham Aliyev reviewed the plan of road junctions and highways under construction in Ziya Bunyadov Avenue

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the plan of road junctions of different levels and highways under construction in Ziya Bunyadov Avenue in Baku. The construction is part of the Action Plan on modernizing the transport system in Baku.
The President was informed that five road junctions and overpasses would be built on the area from Ziya Bunyadov Avenue towards the Boyukshor Roundabout. Also envisaged is the reconstruction of 9,150 meters of roads and junctions. One junction is under construction at the Khutor Roundabout – at the intersection of Ali Mustafayev, Abdulvahab Salamzadeh, Huseynbala Aliyev streets and Ziya Bunyadov Avenue. Three tunnels will be built here – 620, 260, 522 meters long and 22 and 10 meters wide. Also, to facilitate pedestrian movement, three 170-meter pedestrian crossings will be built. Construction started early this year.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev reviewed a plan of the road junction under construction at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Ahmad Rajabli Street. It was noted that this viaduct will be 328 meters long and 28 meters wide. The project owner is the Ministry of Transport and its implementation began early this year.

While examining technical parameters of the viaduct passing over the railway line at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Aliyar Aliyev Street, President Ilham Aliyev was informed that the road being reconstructed will be 452 long and 27 meters wide. More than 70 per cent of the work has been completed. The overpass will have six lanes.
The President also reviewed a plan of the road junction under construction at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Boyuk Shor Street. The tunnel, the construction of which began in May this year, will be 610 meters long, 26.5 meters wide and 5.5 meters high. The tunnel will have six lanes.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev examined a plan of the tunnel under construction at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Muzaffar Narimanov Street. The total length of the six-lane tunnel will be 800 meters and width 26 meters. In addition to the construction of the road junction, Muzaffar Narimanov Street will also be reconstructed.

The President was informed that work on the five road junctions under construction in Ziya Bunyadov Avenue is scheduled for completion in late 2012.

President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions and recommendations to complete the construction of road junctions and roads at a high level.
