Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Mardakan three-level road junction in Khazar District

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Mardakan three-level road junction on the 14th kilometer of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport-Zugulba road in Khazar District.

The Azerbaijani President was informed of the technical parameters of the road junction. It was indicated that the four-span bridge is 220 meters long and 23.5 meters wide. The piles of the four-lane bridge are 13-16 meters in length and 1,200 mm in diameter.

The longest bridge span is 75 meters and calculated seismic resistance is 9 points. President Ilham Aliyev was also informed of the technical parameters of the bridge cable. It was indicated that the 30-meter cable was manufactured in France.

It was brought to the President’s attention that the tunnel section of the road junction was built in 15 months. The tunnel is 400 meters in length, while its closed section is 55 meters long. The junction has a modern drain system and the capacity of its rainwater reservoir is 530 cubic meters.

President Ilham Aliyev cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the road junction.

It was noted that the area surrounding the junction had been landscaped. The road junction will ease traffic from the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in the direction of Mardakan, Shuvalan and Buzovna settlements.

The head of state expressed his satisfaction with the work done and gave instructions and recommendations.
