Ilham Aliyev and Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov met in presence of delegations

President Ilham Aliyev and Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov held a meeting in presence of delegations.

President Ilham Aliyev greeted Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov in Azerbaijan and stated that the visit is of huge importance for further development of relations. “We have already discussed the agenda of our relations with You and we witness the dynamic development of these relations”, - said the President while praising the level of bilateral relations.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that the current visit would be another important step for development of bilateral relations and regional cooperation. Because the issues that have been discussed and will be discussed carry huge regional importance. “We are ready for political, economic, cultural cooperation with you in order to fully exhaust the potential of our bilateral cooperation for welfare of our states and peoples and strengthening of relations between Azerbaijan and the European structures”, - said President Ilham Aliyev and delivered the Bulgarian President his best wishes.

Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, in turn, agreed with President Ilham Aliyev’s evaluation of development of relations, calling them very cordial and good. In recent years, the intensity of relations have increased in the context of contemporary European relations. “Relations on the level of ministries and other organizations develop very rapidly. But it is also very important that the relations between the state leaders give an impetus to development of relations in every field”, - said Bulgarian President and added that these relations and ties are successfully transformed into practical steps in a bilateral context.

It was also noted that the position of Bulgaria, as a member of the EU, is about being active in formulation of a European policy in the region, in particular toward Azerbaijan.
