As part of his visit to Shabran District, President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Shabran Center for Children’s Art.
The head of state cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center.
It was indicated that work in the areas of education, health, infrastructure, etc. was carried out at a high level in Shabran today. Targeted measures are taken to improve the well-being and living conditions in the district. Also in the focus are the training, education and healthy growth of children. In this regard, the opening of the Shabran Center for Children's Art has special importance. The construction of the Center located in Zarifa Aliyeva Street began in late 2010. The construction work, carried out at a high level, was completed in early August this year.
It was noted that the two-storey Center in Shabran is fitted with the equipment necessary for the training and education of children in line with modern requirements. The Center has a “Room of fairy tales”.
During familiarization with the book fund, President Ilham Aliyev was informed that there were more than 5,000 volumes of literature in Latin script. Of these, about 500 volumes are children's books. On the first floor there is a subscriber room where orders from the very young and from secondary school pupils are processed. It was emphasized that the Center’s book fund was being used by about 2,000 readers. The local book exhibition has copies of the books available here.
The President was informed that there is a bibliographic information room on the second floor. This is where the incoming periodicals, newspapers, magazines, textbooks, electronic manuals and training albums are stored. Also on this floor there is an auxiliary fund, where back-up copies of books are stored.
It was noted that the reading room and the electronic library of the Center for Children's Art also meet the latest standards. The electronic library has an automated management system. The system memory stores about 35,000 books of 707 titles, as well as periodicals, newspapers and magazines. There is electronic filing of periodicals. Readers are also provided with online services here. It was indicated that thanks to the system a database of the orders, decrees and laws signed by the head of state is available. There is a link for the full texts of classical and contemporary works, including many works of children's literature. In short, everything has been done to ensure that adolescents can use the electronic library.
The parks around the Center have been reconstructed and recreation opportunities improved for children and local residents.
