President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center in the town of Shabran.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed that at all stages when the republic was led by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, the development of Shabran District was always in the spotlight. The people of Shabran always gratefully remember the care and attention of the nationwide leader. Measures are being taken to perpetuate the memory of the great leader in the district.

The Heydar Aliyev Center built in the town of Shabran provides visitors with the opportunity to examine the stages of the outstanding leader’s life and have a look on more than thirty years of Azerbaijani history. The extensive material collected here clearly shows that Heydar Aliyev was a leader who had great insight into complex and controversial historical processes, did not lose self-control even in the most difficult situations, provided a shrewd assessment of the geopolitical changes in the world and, thanks to his pragmatic thinking and experience, precisely calculated the interests of his people and country. Heydar Aliyev promoted Azerbaijani realities throughout the world. Only after Heydar Aliyev’s return to power could the independent Azerbaijan realize its geopolitical opportunities. Thanks to the political intellect of the Heydar Aliyev genius Azerbaijan managed to avert the threat of international isolation. In terms of the influence on the processes occurring in the global political environment, the Azerbaijani leader was always outspoken and had political authority.

It was indicated that the Center has been established with the aim of studying the rich legacy of the great leader and pass it on to future generations. There is a bust of the nationwide leader perpetuating his memory. There are also photo stands featuring different periods when the republic was led by the great leader.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the activities the photo and video studio established at the Heydar Aliyev Center, a foreign languages club and a library. He was informed that the Center has a large collection of books on Azerbaijani statehood traditions, the rich history and literature of our people, and the life and activities of great leader Heydar Aliyev. In addition to virtual classrooms, there is also a well-equipped conference room intended for hosting various activities. There are also a carpet-weaving and other clubs at the Center.

President Ilham Aliyev gave a high assessment to the work done and left a note in the Guests of Honor book of the Center.
