Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Children’s Art School in Siyazan

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a new building of the Siyazan Children’s Art School.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school.

It was indicated that a number of social infrastructure facilities had been built and commissioned in Siyazan in recent years. In addition to lending further beauty to the town, they also serve to improve people’s comfort. The new building of the Siyazan Children’s Art School holds a special place in this campaign. The school commissioned in 1990 has nurtured a number of winners and laureates in various international art competitions. The old school is located at a different address and is in a run-down state now, so the art school has moved to a new building.

The stands in the lobby of the Center have photos documenting nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev’s and President Ilham Aliyev’s meetings with people of art and culture. There are also photos reflecting the commissioning of youth and children centers in different parts of the republic.

The head of state was informed that the school courtyard had been landscaped and a green area established on a plot of land covering 4,800 square meters. The school has been renovated in line with the latest standards. There are portraits of renowned Azerbaijani and foreign musicians and composers in school corridors. There are departments on theory, folk instruments and piano in the building. In addition, there are 18 classrooms, a hall for hosting festivals, competitions and concerts and a canteen at the school. There are departments on Mugham, Tar, Kamancha, piano, accordion, Nagara, clarinet, choir, painting arts and drawing at the school as well.

President Ilham Aliyev listened to a performance by the school choir. It was indicated that there are 52 teachers working at the school and 247 pupils from Siyazan and surrounding villages were attending various departments of it. School students have become winners and laureates and won certificates in a number of international music and art competitions in Russia, Belarus, the Czech Republic and other countries in recent years.
