Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of a tea factory in Lankaran

President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of a tea factory in Sutamurdov village of Lankaran.

President Ilham Aliyev, first, viewed the model of the factory. It was mentioned that the construction works of the factory, which was built on the basis of second State Program on social-economic development of regions, were completed in a year. The factory, with 1-hectare general area and 2.000 m2 construction site, features an office building and a production workshop. The production workshop consists of three different - preliminary processing, assortment, and folding – sections. The acceptance of raw materials, purification, desiccation, assortment, and packing processes are carried out in this facility. In order to produce good quality and competitive goods, new modern equipments are brought from abroad. The factory can accept up to 2.5 tons of green tea leaves in an hour. This equals 100 tons of green tea leaves processing annually. Sixty people will be employed at the facility. Aside from construction of the factory, it is also planned to create new tea plantations.

President Ilham Aliyev pushed the button to start the production process and watched the desiccation, cleaning, and packing processes in the production workshop. The President also viewed the samples of goods produced at the factory.

It was also mentioned that, it would be possible to process up to 250-300 kilograms of green tea leaves daily at the facility. For the start, two different tea brands – “Imperial” and “Lankaran” – will be used for markets.

President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the staff and gave instructions and suggestions.
