Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of a new canning factory in Lenkaran

Within the framework of his visit to Lenkaran, President Ilham Aliyev attended a new canning factory in Sutamurdov village.

President Ilham Aliyev toured the facility.

The President was informed that in recent years, the opening of new facilities in Lankaran had become regular. The competitiveness and good quality of the fruits of production at these facilities serves the strengthening of export potential of the country in the first place.

The total area of the plant is 10 hectares, with 1 hectare of lands used for construction. The construction works, which had started in May 2008, were completed in March of the current year. The facility consists of an office building, production shop and cold storage. The factory is capable of accommodating 30 tons of products per hour. A cold storage facility, with a capacity of 2.000 tons and 9 chambers, was built in the area of the plant, featuring modern equipments from well-known “Podovan” company of Italy.

The facility will employ 350 people during its full work load.

President Ilham Aliyev pushed the button starting the production and watched the process.

The President congratulated the staff of the facility and wished them success.
