Ilham Aliyev received delegation led by chairman of CIS Executive Committee

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Secretary of the CIS, head of the CIS observation mission for the presidential election Sergey Lebedev.

Sergey Lebedev congratulated the head of state on his landslide victory in the election: “The results of the election reflect the Azerbaijani people’s respect for you. As the head of the CIS observation mission I would like to add that you enjoy great reputation in the entire Commonwealth of Independent States.” Sergey Lebedev thanked the head of state for supporting the activities of CIS. He expressed confidence that Azerbaijan will maintain active cooperation with the organization during President Ilham Aliyev`s new tenure. Stressing that the CIS mission includes 221 observers from eight countries, Sergey Lebedev wished the people and government of Azerbaijan prosperity and successful development.

Thanking for warm words and congratulations, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of activities of the large CIS observation mission. The head of state said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with CIS and to strengthening the organization. President Ilham Aliyev hailed Sergey Lebedev’s role in boosting the organization`s international reputation and strengthening integration processes.

Emphasizing Azerbaijan’s active membership of CIS, the head of state noted that the country will continue to spare no efforts to reinforce cooperation within the organization in order to strengthen security and stability.
