President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif extended President Hassan Rouhani's greetings to President Ilham Aliyev.
Mohammad Javad Zarif thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the hospitality and the organization of the "Heart of Asia" – Istanbul Process (HoA IP) 7th Ministerial Conference under the motto "Security and Economic Connectivity towards a Strengthened Heart of Asia Region" which is being held in Baku.
He hailed the successful development of Azerbaijan-Iran bilateral relations in a variety of fields, and expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani President for supporting the expansion of ties between the two countries.
The Iranian minister underlined the great strides made in strengthening the political dialogue between the two countries, hailing the good opportunities for expanding Azerbaijan-Iran economic cooperation.
FM Javad Zarif noted the importance of Azerbaijan's and Iran's involvement in trilateral cooperation formats.
President Ilham Aliyev recalled his recent visit to Iran, describing the trilateral summit which was held there as an internationally import event. He underlined the fruitful discussions which he held with his Iranian counterpart during the visit.
The head of state pointed to the successful development of bilateral cooperation and friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Iran. The President expressed his confidence that these relations will continue expanding in the years to come.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings of President Hassan Rouhani and asked the FM to extend his greetings to the Iranian head of state.
