President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, has visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The head of the State of Palestine was greeted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva.

President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva informed the distinguished guest of the objectives and activities of the Foundation which has been established in memory of the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people.

It was indicated that the Foundation was established to study and promote the rich heritage of the nationwide leader by implementing various socioeconomic and humanitarian projects, facilitating the progress of Azerbaijan, developing its culture and studying its history.

President Mahmoud Abbas reviewed the photos from the great leader’s personal archive which document different periods of his activities, as well as various exhibits.

During familiarization with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the President of the State of Palestine was informed that the period of the great leader’s presidency was one of the most glorious pages in the history of Azerbaijan.

The present dynamic socioeconomic development, which is viewed by the international community as a major achievement of our country, as well as the successes being made, are products of the nationwide leader’s activities.

The distinguished guest examined numerous documents covering most different aspects of the phenomenal personality’s life and creating a broad impression about a whole period in the history of Azerbaijan. The guest also reviewed the presents made to the great leader by renowned politicians of the world, the books dedicated to him, statements by influential scientists, culture figures and artists about the founder of the independent Azerbaijani state. The President of the State of Palestine also reviewed the photos taken during Heydar Aliyev’s meetings with leaders of foreign countries.

After familiarization with the Foundation, President Mahmoud Abbas left a note in the Book of Distinguished Guests.

The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation presented the President of the State of Palestine with a gift and a book about the activities of the Foundation.
