On behalf of all Canadians, I would like to extend my best wishes to you and to the people of Azerbaijan as you celebrate your country`s Republic Day.
Canada places great value on its relationship with Azerbaijan and recognizes the contributions made to our country by the vibrant Azerbaijani-Canadian community. I am encouraged by the ability of our peoples to work together on issues of international and economic concern. In particular, there remain many opportunities for enhanced trade relations, including in the oil and gas, agriculture, construction and telecommunications sectors. Continued co-operation in these areas will ensure mutual growth and prosperity for both of our countries.
