Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a residential complex for employees of Azerbaijan’s State Border Service

A new residential complex built for employees of the State Border Service has been commissioned in a ceremony attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Thanks to the great attention and care on the part of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and President Ilham Aliyev, the State Border Service (SBS) has risen to the level of modern requirements. Extensive work has been carried out in recent years to ensure reliable protection of state borders, strengthen the Service’s material and technical base, provide it with state-of-the-art hardware, equipment and munitions, create a new border infrastructure, improve the level of personnel training and professionalism. The development of the SBS has contributed to ensuring the inviolability of state borders, major successes in the fight against international terrorism, illegal migration, illegal turnover of narcotic substances and smuggling.

The solution of the social problems of border guards and the improvement of their housing conditions is always in the focus of the State Border Service. In accordance with the instructions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and President Ilham Aliyev, a new residential complex has been built and commissioned in the Narimanov district of the capital.

The chief of the State Border Service, the Commander of the Border Troops, Lt-Gen Elchin Guliyev, reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state was familiarized with the conditions at the new residential complex for the families of border guards. It was indicated that the complex covers an area of 1.6 hectares. A 12-storey 264-apartment building consisting of two- and three-room apartments has been built. All the necessary conditions have been created at the complex. There is also a kindergarten, fitness centers for men and women, a market, a café, a volleyball and basketball court, a car park and a recreation park.

The President was also familiarized with various ancillary facilities of the residential complex. The residential complex is fitted with modern systems of ventilation, fire-extinguishing, lighting and irrigation. Landscaping and amenity planting work has been conducted, a lawn laid and decorative trees and bushes planted.

After reviewing the residential complex, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and President Ilham Aliyev presented a group of residents with ownership certificates.
