Dear Ilham Heydarovich,

On behalf of MPs of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and on my own behalf, I congratulate you and the whole people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the important partners of the Russian Federation, the country which shares common historic, economic, spiritual and socio-cultural roots with Russians.

Our two countries enjoy centuries-old traditions of friendship and partnership. History, culture and the sense of patriotism play a particular role in strengthening the unity of the people of Azerbaijan, and this guarantees the successful and sustainable development of the country. I still keep my best memories of our meetings in Baku.

I wish you and the people of Azerbaijan well-being, greater development and prosperity.
