President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received chairman of Chile-Azerbaijan Friendship Group at the Senate of the Republic of Chile Ivan Barros Moreira.
The head of state expressed his confidence that Ivan Barros Moreira’s visit to Azerbaijan will be successful and contribute to strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. Saying Azerbaijan-Chile ties are not that active, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significance of mutual visits in developing the bilateral relations and introducing the two nations to each other. The head of state said this will pave the way for a more active cooperation both in economic and other areas. Saying the 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum enjoys huge interest, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of Ivan Barros Moreira’s attending the forum.
Chairman of Chile-Azerbaijan Friendship Group at the Chilean Senate Ivan Barros Moreira said his country’s Foreign Minister informed him about Azerbaijan’s growing reputation at the global scale, as well as the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He stressed Chile’s support for Azerbaijan’s just position on the conflict. Ivan Barros Moreira pointed out that the Chilean Foreign Minister also spoke of Azerbaijan’s economic potential.
