President Ilham Aliyev has received Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, head of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly observation mission Ilyas Umakhanov.

Ilyas Umakhanov said he visits Azerbaijan with a delegation representing the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly and the State Duma of the Russian Federation, as well as six countries. He said the mission will monitor the voting in a number of districts in Azerbaijan. He said preparations for the referendum were carried out in accordance with high standards.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of the visit of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly observation mission led by Ilyas Umakhanov to Azerbaijan. The head of state said all necessary conditions were created to ensure transparency in the referendum.

They also discussed cooperation prospects.
