Ilham Aliyev met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan

President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Istanbul.

During the meeting, the sides expressed their satisfaction with successful development of bilateral ties in every field. It was mentioned that the documents to be signed over natural gas sale would mark a new stage of energy cooperation between the two countries. Confidence was expressed over continuation of successful development of energy cooperation, as well as cooperation in other fields, between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Regulation of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was also discussed during the meeting.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his full support to Turkey over the recent events that had taken place in the Mediterranean and delivered his condolences regarding the killing of innocent Turkish civilians in the incident. The President stated that Turkey has Azerbaijan’s full support on that issue.
