President Ilham Alieyv met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul

Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Abdullah Gul met in Istanbul.

During the meeting, the Presidents expressed content with successful development of friendly and fraternal relations between the two states in every field and stressed the importance of high-level mutual visits.

Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in various fields, including energy cooperation, and its regional importance was emphasized. It was mentioned that the documents to be signed on natural gas sale would mark a new stage of successful energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The sides also exchanged views on regulation of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and discussed bilateral, regional and international issues during the meeting.
