Ilham Aliyev examined the work carried out in Khatai and Nizami districts

President Ilham Aliyev chaired a meeting at the Mayor’s Office of Baku dedicated to socioeconomic development of suburban settlements of the capital on 9 March this year. During that meeting, the head of state issued instructions on the socioeconomic development of suburban settlements. In order to examine progress in the implementation of the said instructions on the ground, President Ilham Aliyev visited the Ahmedli village of Khatai district and Keshla settlement of Nizami district on 1 April.

Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov specified to the head of state the streets in the Ahmedli village needing asphalt coating. It was indicated that the implementation of the instructions issued by the President at the 9 March meeting at the Mayor’s Office of Baku dedicated to socioeconomic development of suburban settlements of the capital had commenced in all suburban villages and settlements of Baku. Roads covering 24,000 square meters in Khatai district’s Ahmedli village, which is home to 15,000 people, have already been covered with asphalt. It was added that 40,000 square meters of local roads in Ahmedli would be asphalted. In addition, a modern lighting system will be installed and sewage lines built in the village. The President was informed that projects on modernization of the local infrastructure would be incorporated into the state program on the socioeconomic development of suburban settlements. The construction of a modern hospital and a new library in the Ahmedli village is envisaged. The head of state examined the landscaping and creative work under way in the village and met with local residents.

After meeting the residents of the Ahmedli village, President Ilham Aliyev traveled to the Keshla settlement of Nizami district. The head of state was shown a plan of the Keshla settlement whereby streets needing asphalt coating were identified.

Landscaping and creative work in the Keshla settlement has started with the major overhaul of roads. The unusable local roads covering 18,200 square meters have already been asphalted. It was indicated that the remaining 55,000 square meters of roads would be covered with asphalt as well. Work will be started on street lighting and rebuilding of the water and sewage systems in the Keshla settlement. On the instruction of the President, a new school for 600 pupils will be built in the “Caucasus” neighborhood of the settlement. Also on the agenda is the construction of a modern hospital and an ambulance station.

The head of state examined the landscaping and creative work under way in the village and met with residents of the Keshla settlement.

Local residents thanked the head of state for the work being done towards socioeconomic development of suburban villages and settlements of Baku.
