Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of a newly-appointed Ambassador of Paraguay to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of a newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Paraguay to Azerbaijan, Marcial Bobadilla Guillen.

The Ambassador reviewed the guard of honor.

Ambassador Marcial Bobadilla Guillen presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then President Ilham Aliyev spoke with the Ambassador.

Ambassador Marcial Bobadilla Guillen conveyed to the head of the Azerbaijani state greetings from President of the Republic of Paraguay Fernando Lugo. He said his country was interested in working with the government and people of Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope for a successful development of bilateral relations between our countries. Stating that the relations between the two countries were not very active thus far, the head of state expressed his confidence that areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Paraguay would be identified and our relationship would be strengthened. President Ilham Aliyev stressed that it was in the interests of bilateral relations for our peoples and businesses to know each other well. He expressed hope that the Embassy of Paraguay in Azerbaijan would contribute to the expansion of relations.

The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings of President of the Republic of Paraguay Fernando Lugo and asked to pass on his greeting to the head of the Paraguayan state.
