Dear Sevket Demirel,

I was deeply saddened by the news of the death of your elder brother, a true friend of the Azerbaijani people Suleyman Demirel.

He was a prominent statesman who earned great respect and reputation in the world, a noble man who dedicated all his power to selflessly serving fraternal Turkey.

Friendship between the two great sons of our people – Heydar Aliyev and Suleyman Demirel - will be etched on our minds.

On my own behalf and on behalf of our family, I extend my deepest condolences to you and your family.

May Allah rest his soul in peace!
