President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife, chairperson of the Baku-2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the opening of the Athletes and Media Villages.
The head of state and his wife first visited the Athletes Village. President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Chief Executive Officer of Baku 2015 Azad Rahimov informed the head of state and his wife of the work done. It was said that there are 13 apartment blocks and an administrative building in the Village. Some 7,499 people can be accommodated in 1,042 apartments here.
The head of state and his wife viewed the apartments, a trade center, restaurants, which offer samples of world and Azerbaijani cuisine, and a medical center.
President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva then visited the Media Village.
The President cut the ribbon to officially open the Media Village. The head of state and his wife viewed the media accreditation center, apartments for media representatives and a restaurant.
It was noted that there are four apartment blocks in the Media Village, where a total of 1,830 people can be accommodated in 536 apartments.
