President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the opening of Boyukshor boulevard and park.
The head of state and his spouse first viewed a stand highlighting the work accomplished under the project of restoration of Lake Boyukshor.
Then President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the official inauguration of Boyukshor boulevard and park.
Minister of economy and industry Shahin Mustafayev informed the head of state and his wife of what has been done under the project. It was said that oil-polluted lands in the area of the boulevard and park were cleaned. The area of land reclamation work is more than 15 hectares. A sport ground and children`s playground were created here. Fountains were installed in the lake.
President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse toured the boulevard and park.
A 1,570m long dam was built under the first phase of the project. The dam will make the foundation of an 8-lane highway in the future.
