The opening of Central Master Station and newly constructed 6 substations of "Bakielektrikshebeke" OJSC took place today.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated at the ceremony. Chairman of Board of Directors of "Bakielektrikshebeke" OJSC Baba Rzayev briefed that the decree, signed by President Ilham Aliyev in August 2006, on creation of "Bakielektrikshebeke" OJSC and improvement of its logistical support had resulted by important and tangible changes in the capital’s electric grid system. The rapid development of Baku, the construction of many new facilities and living mansions and increasing demands of population for power have made it necessary to build power plants in conformity with contemporary requirements. It has been noted that 111 substations’ equipment that fell into desuetude and had been out of service since 1946 in the capital city created serious difficulties in providing uninterrupted power supplies for population and facilities. This problem has been solved shortly and a new power plant that meets the most modern standards and disposes the new equipment was constructed in the capital city.
The construction of new substations is still going on in other places of the capital city. As a result of attention and care by the head of state, a set of measures is being implemented to create new power plants in line with the investment program of "Bakielektrikshebeke" OJSC.
One of important moments is the creation of a ring type electric grid of 110 kv that will meet future demands of capital city for power in stable and reliable way. Thus, all problems faced in the past in supplying power to the capital city were solved by forming a new system.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed about the current status of the following substations: 35/10/6 kv, substation number 111, 110/35/10/6 kv, Badamdar substation, 110/35/10 kv Daglyq substation, 110/35/10 kv Icherisheher substation, 35/6 kv, substation number 486 and 35/10 kv Dagustupark substation. Head of state was briefed also the reconstruction work and the created working conditions. It was reported that as a result of full scale refurbishment work carried out in 6 substations, a new and modern equipment was installed in all of them.

As a result of reconstruction work carried out in the substation number 111 located in the territory of Central Master Station, the capacities of this facility was raised from 35 megavolt/ampere to 95 megavolt/ampere. In its turn, this creates conditions to prevent failures occurring in the past, grid disconnections and other problems.
This has resulted by tangible changes in uninterrupted power supplies for a part of Yasamal and Nasimi regions. The commissioning of this substation will lessen the workload of Daglyq substation and substation number 99, increase the reliability of power supplies to other substations and create ring type power supply system.
President Ilham Aliyev toured the museum created in the premises of Central Master Station. The photos dedicated to the events related to power sector of our republic and the construction of new power plants in the capital city under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev were demonstrated in the museum. All conditions were created for the full scale activities of power specialists. Differing by its modern architectural design and comfortable working conditions, the working rooms of building are equipped with modern devices.
Head of state got familiarized with conditions created in Central Master Station. It was reported that this is the point which controls fully the modernized substations. The particular feature of this system is explained by the automated management of the entire system. Thus, the system warns about any failures without external interference. SCADA system applied in this site enables to observe failure cases, define its places of occurrence and ensure prompt rectification.
All new substations that belongs Bakielektrikshebeke OJSC are connected to SCADA system.

Then, head of state watched the film about new substations. It is dedicated to conditions created in new substations and events organized in power grid of capital city as a result of attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev.
