President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Seychelles Dick Esparon.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the Ambassador.
The Ambassador extended greetings of President of the Republic of Seychelles James Alix Michel to the head of state. He said his country`s President supported peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Seychelles for his just position on peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The head of state said that as a result of gross violation by Armenia of international legal norms 20% of Azerbaijan`s lands have been under occupation. President Ilham Aliyev noted with regret the fact that although more than 20 years passed since the UN Security Council adopted four resolutions demanding an unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands these resolutions have not yet been implemented.
The parties discussed the issues related to the development of the bilateral relations between the two countries in a variety of areas, including mutual investment making, energy, fishing, tourism and others.
The head of state thanked for the greetings of President James Alix Michel, and asked the Ambassador to communicate his greetings to the President of the Republic of Seychelles.
