President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a new village built in a military unit in Gabala.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Col-Gen Ramil Usubov reported to Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state was informed that considerable work was being done to improve the material and technical infrastructure of the Armed Forces. This work is evidenced by the conditions created at the military unit. High quality construction work was carried out at the new village, which covers an area of 5.5 hectares. There are five-storey headquarters, barracks and a canteen, a checkpoint and officers quarters here. A large parade ground was built, internal communications lines laid and green areas created here. The buildings are fitted with necessary engineering and communication systems. There is also a checkpoint, a bathhouse, a laundry, a boiler house, a transformer substation and watchtowers.
President Ilham Aliyev was told that all buildings were built in a national architectural style.
The head of state then reviewed the headquarters of the military unit. There are photo stands reflecting the attention of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the Armed Forces and the activities of the Internal Troops. There are also boards with state symbols of Azerbaijan. The first floor houses offices. The headquarters are also fitted with necessary communication systems, furniture and equipment.
Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the soldiers' canteen. There is also a 30-flat dorm for officers in the village.
The head of state then reviewed weapons and military hardware used by the Internal Troops to fight against armed criminal gangs.
