President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Acting Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs of the U.S. Department of State Amos Hochstein.
The head of state expressed his satisfaction with the long-term productive cooperation between Azerbaijan and the U.S. in the energy sector, and stressed the importance of the U.S. government’s support of Azerbaijan-initiated projects.
Noting that the Southern Gas Corridor project is of great regional importance, Amos Hochstein congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the groundbreaking ceremony of the project.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.
