Ilham Aliyev telephoned President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin

On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made a telephone call to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

During the conversation, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, which are based on strategic cooperation, in political, economic, humanitarian, military-technical and other fields, and expressed confidence that the high level ties between the two countries would continue strengthening.

During the phone conversation, the parties discussed the issues related to resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and noted the role of the Russian Federation in settlement of the dispute as one of the Minsk Group's Co-Chair countries.

The heads of state exchanged views over other issues of mutual interest.
