President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso have held a one-on-one meeting.

The head of state welcomed the President of the European Commission.

President Ilham Aliyev and Jose Manuel Barroso posed for official photos.

Then President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso met in private.

During the meeting, the sides noted that relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union had been developing successfully in the fields of politics and economy.

The parties said there were good prospects for the expansion of the energy cooperation even further.

The sides stressed the importance of Jose Manuel Barroso`s visit in terms of Azerbaijan-European Union ties.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
