The opening of the National Institute of Sports Medicine, Diagnostics and Rehabilitation has been held.
The opening ceremony was attended by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the institute.
The President and his wife reviewed the Institute building.
It was noted that the National Institute of Sports Medicine, Diagnostics and Rehabilitation was established to provide the necessary conditions for the achievements in the field of sports in the country, develop modern methods, identify the potential of young athletes and conduct rehabilitation of injured athletes. The main function of the Institute, which is fitted with modern equipment, is to diagnose, conduct medical examination and treatment of active and reserve athletes.
It was indicated that structural units of the Institute include a laboratory on organizational and methodological work, medical prophylaxis, an inpatient hospital for five people, as well as laboratories of morphological and functional diagnostics, biomechanics of the motor system, physical impacts, physiotherapy and manual actions, a group on psychological tests and therapy, and a pharmacy.
After familiarizing himself with the conditions created at the building of the National Institute of Sports Medicine, Diagnostics and Rehabilitation, the President gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
