President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Sinh Hung.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Sinh Hung, pointed to the importance of President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to Vietnam form the standpoint of its contribution to the development of bilateral relations. Noting that Azerbaijan had achieved tremendous progress under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Nguyen Sinh Hung congratulated the head of the Azerbaijani state on this occasion.
The President of Azerbaijan recalled the visits of the founder of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, to Azerbaijan and of great leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam back when he was one of the leaders of the Soviet Union. Indicating that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam were developing successfully in different areas, President Ilham Aliyev said the citizens of Vietnam educated in Azerbaijan were making a special contribution to the development of these ties. The President noted that there was a group on friendship with Vietnam within the parliament of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam. President Ilham Aliyev added that this was creating favourable conditions for a comprehensive development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The sides also expressed their confidence that the relations of friendship between Azerbaijan and Vietnam would continue to expand.
