As part of a visit to Goygol, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed a Youth Center.
Important activities are currently under way to build a youth policy in the country. The state youth policy associated with the name of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev has been producing successful results since 2003. An important role in these processes has been played by the “State Program of Azerbaijani Youth” covering the 2005-2009 period. The “State Program of Azerbaijani Youth in 2011-2015”, which is under way at the present time, is a logical continuation of these activities. One of the priority directions of state policy at this stage is the education of young people in the spirit of patriotism and statehood and on the basis of respect for Azerbaijan’s historical, cultural and moral values. The construction of modern social facilities meeting modern standards in Azerbaijani regions serves this very goal. The establishment of the Goygol Youth Center is intended to give an impetus to a broader engagement of young people in the life of the district.
During familiarization with the Youth Center, President Ilham Aliyev was informed that the center, which is expected to encourage young people of the district to expand their public engagement and bolster their intellectual potential, has become popular with local youngsters. The Internet café, disco and other entertainment facilities available here have made young people’s free time much more effective. A modern assembly hall is also available for conducting various youth activities. In genera, the establishment of such centers is intended to encourage young people to take an active part in the public, political, socioeconomic and cultural life of society.
