President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the President of the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation Ramazan Abdulatipov.

The head of state noted that our country’s relations with individual subjects of the Russian Federation, including the Republic of Dagestan, are of great importance for expanding bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation. President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the visit of the President of the Republic of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov to our country will further strengthen Azerbaijani-Russian bilateral relations, as well as friendly relations with the Republic of Dagestan, which have historical and cultural roots. President Ilham Aliyev stressed that the visit is a good opportunity for discussing issues relating to cooperation in the economic sphere.

Ramazan Abdulatipov noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin attaches importance to the active continuation of relations between Dagestan and Azerbaijan. Stressing that the delegation commemorated the great leader Heydar Aliyev and outstanding statesman Aziz Aliyev in the Alley of Honour, Ramazan Abdulatipov said that in Derbent, work has been carried out to create a new alley and park in memory of Heydar Aliyev.

The head of state noted that the work undertaken in Dagestan to immortalize the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev has been praised in our country and said that it is regarded as the respect of our people for the great leader who made a great contribution to the further strengthening of our ties and embodies friendly and brotherly ties between our peoples. President Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction that part of the life and career of the outstanding statesman Aziz Aliyev was connected with Dagestan.
