Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Rixos Guba Azerbaijan hotel complex

During his visit to the northern region of the country, President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Rixos Guba Azerbaijan hotel complex in Guba.

The high achievements gained in the fields of economy, sports, culture, arts and other areas in Azerbaijan, which acts as a bridge between Europe and Asia, along with foreign businessmen, have also increased the interest of tourists in our country. Fertile grounds for this are also created by major projects on the development of tourism in our country as a result of President Ilham Aliyev's successful policy. From this perspective, comprehensive measures are being implemented for the further development of the hotel business in Azerbaijan. These hotels provide guests with high quality services.

Azerbaijan, which aims to further strengthen its position in the world, has already become a country that hosts the most representative international events. In addition, one of the main priorities in Azerbaijan is the development of tourism as a leading non-oil sector sphere. Currently our country is implementing a series of measures to establish the hotel business and receive visitors and tourists in line with world standards.

Thanks to the focused policy being conducted by President Ilham Aliyev today, all regions of our country, including Guba are being modernized while retaining their ancient historical appearance. The Rixos Guba Azerbaijan hotel complex, whose construction began in the area in April 2011 and which is ready for use, is also one of the steps taken in this sphere. During his trip to Guba in September this year, President Ilham Aliyev issued relevant instructions and recommendations for the transformation of this hotel into a complex with modern infrastructure and an advanced network of services. The increasing number of such complexes in the country demonstrates the economic potential of Azerbaijan and provides a basis for increasing the number of tourists visiting our country. The Hotel Rixos Guba Azerbaijan is an important tourist facility not only for Guba District, but also for the region. The hotel has a perfect infrastructure.

It was reported that the Hotel Rixos Guba Azerbaijan was built on the bank of the River Gudyalchay. The hotel complex, which will provide a variety of high quality services, was built in an interesting architectural style. The building was erected on the basis of a synthesis of modern and avant-garde architectural styles, and furniture and accessories manufactured abroad were used in the design of its interior. A special VIP-service and a helicopter service will operate to transport tourists from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to the Hotel Rixos Guba Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the complex. It was noted that the hotel complex consists of the seven-storey main building, 16 villas, three restaurants, a night club, an amusement park, golf courses and other modern service facilities and occupies 210 hectares. The hotel also has a tennis court, volleyball, basketball and mini-football grounds. The villas consist of seven rooms. In addition, the guests will be able to use a sauna, massage room, gym, home theatre, lounge, terraces and other infrastructure services.

The hotel restaurant The Challette is located at a height - on a picturesque territory. To get to the restaurant, there is a cable car and a road. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes. And in the restaurant Le Coquet, built near an artificial lake of 2.6 hectares, seafood is cooked. The Mosaic restaurant is the main catering facility in the hotel where guests are offered breakfast, dinner and supper. At the same time, this restaurant serves delicate international cuisine. Guests can order food and drinks to their rooms around the clock. The Planet Guba entertainment centre operating here is a family vacation spot designed for one thousand people. The entertainment centre has all kinds of services and playing equipment. The Rixy club, designed for children aged 4-12 years, organizes children's entertainment programmes. There are perfect conditions for ceremonies here.

It was noted that the total area of the Rixos SPA & Wellness health centre in the complex is 1,800 square metres. It has indoor and outdoor pools, massage room, gym and beauty salon. Rooms in the main building are equipped with modern furniture, bedding sets and equipment and are decorated with high taste. The Rixos Guba Azerbaijan also has three halls for meetings under the names of "North", "Caspian" and "Baku". In the hall "Caspian", which seats 1,500 people, in addition to meetings, it is planned to hold events, forums and celebrations. The hotel will organize strolls in the woods and regional "safari" tours in special vehicles.

The territory of the golf course, which imparts special beauty to the complex, is 68 hectares. The first and only golf courses in Azerbaijan will be organized here. With the help of cable cars, guests will be provided with special services for strolls in the mountains. The territory of the complex is fully landscaped. It is planned to create more than 300 permanent jobs at the Hotel Rixos Guba Azerbaijan.
