Ilham Aliyev has visited the tomb of national leader Heydar Aliyev

Ten years have passed since the death of the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, world famous politician and national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev.

On 12 December, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and family members arrived at the Alley of Honour, where they visited the tomb of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Alley of Honour was also visited by deputies of the Milli Majlis, ministers, heads of committees, companies and departments, and representatives of the public.

President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the tomb of the great leader.

The state anthem of Azerbaijan was played.

The head of state and family members also laid flowers at the tomb of the spouse of the great leader, prominent ophthalmologist and academician, Zarifa Aliyeva.

The prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev and professor Tamerlan Aliyev were also commemorated and flowers were laid on their graves.

The ceremony to visit the tomb of the great leader was attended by the Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov, the head of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev, and other officials.
