Ilham Aliyev and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in the opening of the new building of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Azerbaijan

The opening of the new building of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Azerbaijan has been held in Baku.

The ceremony was attended by President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko.

At the ceremony, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Belarus were played and the national flag of Belarus was raised. The Presidents cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the embassy building.

It was reported that the construction of the Embassy building began in June 2012. The new four-storey building will house both the Embassy and the Consular Department. The building has all the conditions for the effective operation of the Embassy staff. A five-storey residential building was also built for members of the diplomatic corps on site.

The Presidents familiarized themselves with the conditions created in the Embassy building.

Then the heads of state planted a tree in the courtyard of the Embassy.

After that, President Ilham Aliyev and President Aleksandr Lukashenko familiarized themselves with equipment and vehicles for different purposes produced jointly by the Ganja automobile plant and the Belarusian tractor and automobile plant.
