On 9 October, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan telephoned President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his convincing victory in the presidential election and wished him every success in the high post for the benefit of further development of the Azerbaijani people and state.

The President thanked the Prime Minister of Turkey for the attention and congratulations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also expressed their confidence that bilateral relations based on the principles of friendship and brotherhood would continue to thrive.
