As part of a visit to Saatli District, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Garayevkand-Simadakand road.
Recent years have seen fundamental changes in the road and transport infrastructure of the country. All streets and roads of the capital and district centers are being refurbished. This process has assumed large proportions in Saatli District.
The local road Garayevkand-Simadakand has been fully refurbished in accordance with modern requirements.
The head of state reviewed the stands describing the technical parameters of the road.
It was noted that since the road had not been renovated for years, it was in unserviceable condition. In accordance with the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated 16 July 2013 "On additional measures to accelerate the socioeconomic development of Saatli District", funds in the amount of 3 5 million manats were initially allocated for the construction of the Garayevkand-Simadakand road linking 17 settlements with a population of 44,000 people. The road was reconstructed in a short time, which has significantly facilitated the movement of citizens.
It was noted that the project documentation was prepared by the "AzerNagliyyatYolTikinti" Joint Stock Company. The total length of the road is 21 km. An 11-km section of the road has been put into operation. The road has been reconstructed to modern standards. There are 22 water drains along the road. A total of 66,000 square meters of asphalt pavement has been laid. There are 250 signal supports on the roadside.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the road.
