Following an order signed by the head of state on 1 April 2011, 1.5 million manats were allocated for the construction of this medical institution.

After arriving in Ahmadli, President Ilham Aliyev reviewed a photo stand describing the previous and current state of the health clinic.

The head of the Khatai district Executive Authority, Razim Mammadov, said the previous building of the outpatient clinic built in 1936 used to operate as a school and started to be used as a clinic only in 1991. The outpatient clinic provides medical services to a total of 15,000 people, as well as veterans of World War II, Karabakh war, martyr families and up to 400 IDP and refugee families living in the area. It also covers a large number of the elderly population and children who had to apply elsewhere for stationary treatment before. The commissioning of the new building will contribute to the solution of a number of health issues for the local population.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the clinic.

In the lobby of the clinic there is a photo stand reflecting the care and attention of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev for the development of healthcare in the country.

It was noted that the new three-storey building, which has a modern architectural style, covers an area of 3,600 square meters. The clinic will operate a medical staff of 80 people.

The President reviewed the department of functional diagnostics. There are offices for stationary ultrasound and X-ray examination, a clinical laboratory and a physiotherapy room equipped with ultrasound and electrophoresis units. The clinic also has a cafeteria for 25 people.

While reviewing the therapeutic department of the clinic, President Ilham Aliyev was informed that its various sections are fitted with the latest medical equipment and can provide quality service to the population.

When the President watched the surrounding area from the clinic’s balcony, he was informed that an area of 2,000 square meters had been landscaped, green areas set up and a modern lighting system installed. Also, several streets of the settlement have been paved, a modern lighting system installed, fences and pavements restored.

After reviewing the clinic, President Ilham Aliyev met with local resident Gurbanali Alizadeh who had also participated in President Ilham Aliyev’s meeting with representatives of the Ahmadli public in April 2011.

Gurbanali Alizadeh: Hello, welcome. We are very pleased to see you, may Allah always be with you. Dear Mr. President, you have presented us with such a magnificent health center.

President Ilham Aliyev: I congratulate you. It is a great holiday tomorrow. The Day of the State Flag. And on the eve of that we meet for the commissioning of this wonderful clinic, it is actually a hospital. This issue was raised in our meeting with local residents. Two main issues were raised at the time. One was the issue of roads, which is now being resolved.

The second was the reconstruction of this clinic. There are pictures of the old clinic here, and I am sure you remember what it looked like before. Now there is such a beautiful and magnificent healthcare facility which will provide services to the local people. I congratulate you. But there is still a lot to do. Such wonderful healthcare facilities are established throughout the country. Inshallah, even more will be done in the coming years. I congratulate you. Good bye.
