Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, and his wife Sebia Izetbegovic have visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic.
The distinguished guest and his wife were informed of the objectives and activities of the Foundation which has been established in memory of the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people. It was indicated that the Foundation studies and promote the rich heritage of the nationwide leader by implementing various socioeconomic and humanitarian projects, facilitating the progress of Azerbaijan, developing its culture and studying its history.
Bakir Izetbegovic and his wife reviewed the photos from the great leader’s archive which document different periods of his activities, as well as various exhibits.
During familiarization with the Foundation, the guests were informed that the period of the great leader’s presidency was one of the most glorious pages in the history of Azerbaijan. The rapid socioeconomic development of the country, which is viewed by the international community as a major achievement of our country, as well as the achievements still being made, are products of the nationwide leader’s activities.
The distinguished guests examined numerous documents covering most different aspects of the phenomenal personality’s life and creating a broad impression about a whole period in the history of Azerbaijan. The guests also reviewed the presents made to the great leader by renowned politicians of the world, statements by influential scientists, culture figures and artists about the founder of the independent Azerbaijani state, and reviewed with interest the pictures taken during meetings with leaders of foreign countries. The guests were pleased to see a photo of great leader Heydar Aliyev with Bakir Izetbegovic’s father, Alija Izetbegovic, the first president of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The picture was taken in New York on 25 October 1995.
After familiarization with the Foundation, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic left a note in the Book of Distinguished Guests.
The distinguished guest was presented with a gift from the Foundation.
