Head of the State Border Service lieutenant general Elchin Guliyev reported to Mr.Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon signaling the symbolic opening of the Academy of the State Border Service and got familiarized with the conditions created in the said institution.
The head of state was informed that the Academy of the State Border Service has been founded at the basis of the Order dated 12 June 2007 and signed by President Ilham Aliyev. The Academy has been established to form the officers’ personnel, the officers of command and General Headquarters with specialized military higher education as well as military scientific personnel, increase their professional skills and carry out scientific research work in the field of state border protection and military business.
President Ilham Aliyev visited also the Heydar Aliyev Museum of the Academy, its conference hall, classrooms, departments, canteen, dormitory, library and conditions ensured in the leisure and sport halls.
Afterwards, Mr.Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces presented the banner to the Academy of the State Border Service.

President Ilham Aliyev has made a speech during the ceremony. Congratulating officers’ and students’ corps of the Academy on the occasion of the opening of this higher military education institution, the head of state wished success in their sacred mission of ensuring inviolability of national borders and security.
