President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed a modern greenhouse complex of Green Tech LLC owned by Azersun Holding Group.

As part of the “State Program on the socioeconomic development of Baku and its suburban settlements for 2011-2013”, approved by President Ilham Aliyev, various production facilities are put into operation in different parts of the capital and consistent measures aimed at improving the living conditions of the population are taken in settlements and villages. One such farm is the modern greenhouse complex of Green Tech LLC owned by Azersun Holding Group. It is located in the Bina settlement.

First, the President reviewed the photos documenting the participation of great leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev in the opening ceremonies of various Azersun enterprises.

Then the President examined parts of the complex. The head of state inspected the site of automated irrigation systems. President Aliyev was informed in detail about the modern greenhouse complex. It was noted that the goal of the project being implemented in Azerbaijan by Green Tech LLC is to further develop agriculture through the use of the latest western technology, create new agricultural jobs and provide the population with environmentally friendly vegetables. The greenhouse covers an area of 80 hectares. In order to implement the project, the National Fund on Entrepreneurship Support under the Ministry of Economic Development allocated Green Tech LLC a soft loan of 5 million manats. Construction work and new investment projects are still ongoing at the enterprise. The plan is to invest 16 million manats in the project. Modern construction materials, equipment, devices and installations have been used in the construction of the greenhouse.

The President reviewed the site where vegetables are grown. It was noted that the latest Dutch planting technique is applied here. The greenhouse complex utilizes state-of-the-art technology, is fully equipped with climate control systems, heat-shielding films, boiler equipment, heating and irrigation systems.

The company employs 151 people. After completion of the project, the number of employees will reach 300. The enterprise is also important in terms of employment opportunities for the people of Bina.

The capacity of the complex is 6,000 tons of produce per year and is expected to reach 10,000 tons.

Organic fertilizer is used in the greenhouse. Vegetable seedlings are pollinated by means of bee colonies, which contributes to higher natural yields. The use of modern technologies in growing vegetables will help ensure high yields and provide consumers with clean products throughout the year.

The President tasted the local produce. After reviewing the vegetable site, President Aliyev wished the team every success.

Employees of the greenhouse thanked the head of state for the care and attention to the establishment of a modern enterprise in Bina.

President Ilham Aliyev also visited the packaging site.

In addition to supplying produce to the domestic market, the company also intends to export vegetables to foreign countries. The establishment of a greenhouse complex meeting the latest requirements is further evidence of the non-oil sector development and is important in terms of enhancing the country’s export potential.
After reviewing the work done, the President gave relevant instructions.
