Baku Zoological Park has been inaugurated after reconstruction.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, their daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the event.
Baku Zoological Park was reconstructed on the initiative of founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva.
As a result of four years of major reconstruction, the Baku Zoological Park has been brought to the most modern level.
Not only the appearance of the Baku Zoological Park, but also its purpose and approach have been changed. In general, Zoos are not only a place of entertainment, but also a scientific and educational institution. Therefore, the main goal of the Baku Zoological Park has been to become a center of education, research and conservation enabling people to learn about the animal world, especially the unique fauna of Azerbaijan. In this regard that favorable conditions have been created for the reproduction of animals as part of the projects to increase the natural population and reintroduction of species listed in Azerbaijan’s “Red Data Book” implemented by the IDEA Public Union.
